      Voice Cloning

      Voice Cloning allows you to digitally replicate your voice, making it available in your Hour One account's voice library for use in your projects. This feature helps personalize your videos and make them more unique.

      Hour One offers the ability for Standard Voice Cloning and Premium Voice Cloning. This article will go over:

      What’s the difference between Standard & Premium Voice Cloning?

      Standard Voice cloning lets you clone your voice with a very short audio sample nearly instantaneously.

      Premium Voice cloning allows you to train a hyper-realistic model of your voice. This is achieved by training a dedicated model on a large set of voice data to produce a model that’s indistinguishable from the original voice and able to retain original accents. Given the quality difference, the processing takes much longer and is not instantaneous.

      Getting Started with Voice Cloning

      Note: If you purchased both a custom avatar and voice clone, the voice clone needs to be recorded separately. For quality reasons, we do not use the audio from the avatar shooting.

      To create a clone of your voice, follow these steps:

      1. Prepare a script: Having a prepared script to read through will make the recording process more efficient and consistent. Or, if you feel more comfortable talking about a life experience (doesn't matter the topic!) then that is fine as well!
        • The Premium voice cloning requires a much longer script/story
      2. Set up your recording environment: Find a quiet room with no background noise. Use a high-quality headset and microphone, positioned about a fist's distance from your mouth.
        • For Premium voice cloning, it is highly recommended to use a studio-grade microphone
      3. Upload your voice sample: Access the Hour One editor, then select the 'Voices' tab on the right menu bar. At the top of the voices library, click 'Clone Your Voice' (screenshot below).
        • Option 1 - Record voice: Record at least 3-4 minutes of clean audio, or several 60-second clips, in a loud and clear voice.
        • Option 2 - Upload Voice file. WAV audio file, up to 10 mb size, 4-5 minutes in length Submit your recording: Once done, click add voice. Expect your digital voice clone to be available within 1-2 business days.
        • Premium Voice Cloning - Cannot be submitted via the platform. Coordinate with your Hour One Customer Success Manager. Requires a minimum of 30mins of an audio sample
      4. Submit your recording: After submission, expect your digital voice clone to be available within 1-2 business days.
        • Premium Voice Cloning takes around 1 month to process

      💡Keep in mind! The pace, cadence, and rhythm of your recording will affect the overall tone of your finalized voice clone. For example, if you record in an enthusiastic cadence, your voice clone will sound more enthusiastic.

      Using Your Cloned Voice

      Once your cloned voice is available in your workspace, you can select it as a voice option within your Hour One projects. The voice clone will be exclusive to your team and will not be accessible to others outside of your workspace.

      Languages

      All languages listed below are supported by both Standard and Premium Voice Cloning. Languages marked with an asterisk (*) offer multilingual capabilities, allowing a voice clone created in one language (e.g., English) to speak another language (e.g., German or Spanish) with the correct accent.

      Accents

      Voice cloning is generally very accurate when copying accents. If you have a rather unique voice with a less common accent, standard voice cloning might not provide a perfect replication of your voice. 

      Premium voice cloning is able to accurately copy accents. 

      Important: If you want to accurately match your accent in multiple languages using Premium Voice Cloning (PVC), you'll need to purchase a separate PVC for each language. This way, the voice will precisely reflect your accent when speaking each specific language.
